In 1999, with Jérôme Sans, Bourriaud formed the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, which is now the country’s most important contemporary art museum. Inaugurating the new franchise of the modern art museum, this exhibition brings collectively a collection of over 190 pieces created by 50 totally different artists, all of whom purpose to address social and political issues affecting society right now. The name of the exhibition is a nod to Marvin Gaye’s influential album of the same name from 1971, which spoke out against injustice and other societal points.
